It has been announced that Misaki Kuno, Koutaro Nishiyama, Akira Sekine, and Shiro Sano will be joining the cast of voice actors for "Clevates II - The King of Beasts and the False Hero Legend -", the second season of the TV anime "Clevates - The King of Beasts, the Baby and the Corpse Hero -", which is based on the manga by Misaki Kuno Iwahara currently serialized on "Akira Sekine Manga". Kuno will play Sarasa, Nishiyama will play Edison, Sekine will play Mirea, and Sano will play the headmaster, Romaine, as they play new characters waiting for Kren and his friends at the seminary.
Kuno commented, "I love the atmosphere of the original work drawn by Mr. Yuji Iwahara, so I am very happy to be involved as a member of the cast. The staff's passion for the work is amazing, and I had a lot of fun and excitement every time I did the voice recording. I did my best to play Sarasa. Sarasa is a character that will appear from the second season, so I hope you will look forward to seeing how she will be involved with Kuren and the others. Thank you!"
Nishiyama said, "When I first read the comic, I was immediately captivated by the depth of the story and the power of the illustrations. I am truly happy to be involved in this project! I have inherited the passion from the first season and have carefully portrayed Edison so that viewers can feel his charm even more closely. I remember it being a lively and fun recording session with a large cast. The second season is also full of highlights, so please look forward to it!"
Sekine said, "This character has been my favorite since the audition, so I'm incredibly happy to be able to play her! The recording was very fun, but also very challenging... I challenged myself while going through the direction many times. I hope you will enjoy it. Thank you all very much!"
Sano commented, "I first met director Kiyotaka Taguchi on 'Long-Haired Giant Monster Gehara,' and we worked together again on the final episode of ' Ultraman Orb.' His recent work has been remarkable, and he has been delivering one wonderful work after another, such as ' Ultraman Blazar.' What is particularly noteworthy about the director is his meticulous direction of actors! That gaze is fully displayed in 'Klebades II.' A group of young actors with ties to Ultraman have gathered, and even though it is animation, they have injected the characters with a physical presence through their voices that is no different from, or even better than, live-action. I play the principal who teaches magic at the seminary."
It was also announced that the music unit "MYTH & ROID" will be in charge of the ending theme, "Awake Anew." "MYTH & ROID" said, "The theme of this song is 'self-acceptance.' It's a song that resonates with the characters as they confront the pain of a past they don't want to accept and aspects of themselves they don't want to acknowledge, and gain a new self through their struggles. The crises and loneliness depicted in the story are internal, and there are things that can only be found in the time spent confronting oneself that no one can touch. We would be happy if this song could quietly resonate not only with their story but also with the time of each listener."
A second promotional video featuring the song, as well as a second key visual depicting characters such as Kren and Alicia dressed in seminary uniforms, have also been released.
"Klebates" tells the story of Alicia, who has longed to be a hero since childhood, and becomes one of the 13 heroes chosen by the king to defeat the Demon Beast King Klebates. However, her reckless bravery leads to the worst possible crisis, threatening to wipe out all of humanity on the continent of Edsea. A baby entrusted to the Demon Beast King becomes the world's only remaining hope.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2025. It garnered attention because it marked the directorial debut of Kiyotaka Taguchi, who has worked on many tokusatsu (special effects) works, including the "Ultraman" series. The second season will begin airing in July.
