A one-shot spin-off of the popular manga "The Promised Neverland," which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be published in the magazine this summer. It will be published to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the start of the serialization. The announcement was made on "Jump PRESS," which was streamed on YouTube on April 27th.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the series, five major projects were announced, including the publication of a bonus one-shot story, a full-fledged musical adaptation, the creation of a full-color digital comic version, additional pop-up shop tours, and the release of a new online lottery.
"The Promised Neverland" is a manga series written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu. The story follows Emma, Norman, and Ray, who live happily in a small orphanage called Grace Field House, until one day they discover a shocking truth hidden by the orphanage and their "Mama" (foster mother), and decide to "escape" in order to survive. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from August 2016 to June 2020. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March 2019, and the second season aired from January to March 2021. A live-action film starring actress Minami Hamabe was released in 2020, which also garnered attention.
