Actor So Kaku , who plays Todo Takatora in the NHK Taiga drama " BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!） " (NHK General, Sundays at 8pm, etc.), appeared at the "Zaiji Hachiman Shrine Wisteria Festival" held in Kora-cho, Shiga Prefecture on April 26th. Kora-cho in Shiga Prefecture is said to be Takatora's birthplace, and a victory cry was raised as the signal to start the parade of the Ise-tsu Takatora Corps and the Kora Armor Corps. Kakyu also participated in the mochi-throwing ceremony on the shrine grounds. In commemoration of the 470th anniversary of Todo Takatora's birth, he carefully distributed "470 plus α" mochi.
Takatora, played by Yoshihisa, made his first appearance in the Battle of Anegawa, depicted in episode 15, "The Great Battle of Anegawa" (aired April 19th). At the talk show that day, he also revealed a behind-the-scenes story: the armor he wore in the Battle of Anegawa was "too small." Yoshihisa, who has also visited the site of the Battle of Anegawa, reflected, "Although the Battle of Anegawa was filmed in the studio, I had seen the actual location, so I was able to imagine the size of the battlefield and other details as being very close to reality when acting, which made it much easier!"
When asked about Takatora, Yoshihisa revealed, "Because he's not famous, the more I researched him, the more I enjoyed getting to know him, and I felt a surge of joy at the opportunity to play this character." When asked about his impression of Hidenaga, whom he will serve in the future, he said, "He's someone who can properly appreciate Takatora, a troublesome character who has changed lords many times. I think he was a dazzlingly trustworthy person for Takatora."
Takatora is one of the "Three Great Castle Builders," alongside Kuroda Kanbei and Kato Kiyomasa. While showing a competitive spirit towards Kanbei, saying, "I won't give in when it comes to building castles," he smiled and declared victory, saying, "Kanbei is amazing at strategic planning, but in a novel I read about Takatora before, Kuroda Kanbei was portrayed as a rather unpleasant character, so I don't want to lose to him. Takatora has straightforwardness, greatness, and manliness, so I think I win."
