Character designs for the opening episode, "The Black Trigger Scramble Arc," of the new "REBOOT Project" for the anime "World Trigger," based on the popular manga by Daisuke Ashihara, have been released. This project will create a completely new anime adaptation starting from the first chapter of the original manga, and "The Black Trigger Scramble Arc," currently in production, depicts the meeting of Osamu Mikumo and Yuma Kuga, and Yuma's joining Border.
The character designs for Yuma, Osamu, and others were revealed for the first time in a video that premiered at the "World Trigger Festival 2026" event held on April 16th at Kanadevia Hall (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo).
Morio Hatano will serve as series director, Hiroyuki Yoshino will handle series composition, and Toshihisa Kaiya will be in charge of character design. It was also announced that Tomo Muranaka will play Yuma Yuki Kaji Mikumo, Nao Tamura will play Chika Amatori, Yuichi Nakamura will play Yuichi Jin, and Hideyuki Tanaka will play Replica.
It has also been announced that the exhibition event "Anime WORLD TRIGGER Exhibition “REBOOT”" will be held. It will take place at Sunshine City Exhibition Hall C (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) from August 11 to September 1, and at the special venue C section on the 4th floor of the ATC ITM building (Suminoe-ku, Osaka) from November 14 to December 6.
"World Trigger" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) in February 2013. It depicts the battle between Neighbors, who come from another dimension to invade "this world," and Border, a defense organization. It is currently being serialized in "Jump SQ." (Shueisha).
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2014 to April 2016, the second season from January to April 2021, and the third season from October 2021 to January 2022.
