NHK Special "Hideyoshi and the Secrets of Kyoto: Latest Investigation - Hideyoshi's Remodeling of Kyoto! Approaching the Phantom Castle!", in which actor Kuranosuke Sasaki traces the little-known traces of Hideyoshi's transformation of Kyoto, will be broadcast on NHK General on March 29th at 9pm. The program will reveal for the first time the "capital of the ruler of Japan" that has been revived in modern times based on the latest research. It will also delve into the "phantom castle" on which the future of the Toyotomi family rested.
The legendary castle that Hideyoshi supposedly built next to the Imperial Palace the year before his death actually existed. What was Hideyoshi's secret plan for the future of the Toyotomi family hidden in this final castle...? In the last ten years of his life, Hideyoshi created a new capital. In this program, Sasaki, who was born and raised in Kyoto, traces the little-known traces of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's transformation of Kyoto, and delves into the story of the glory and setbacks of the Toyotomi family etched into the changing Kyoto of the Warring States period.
Hirotaro Honda also appeared on the program, with Riho Yoshioka serving as the narrator.
