The main promotional video for the TV anime "Kanan-sama wa Akumade Choroi," based on the romantic comedy manga by nonco currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), has been released on YouTube. The video depicts the gourmet demon Canaan in a cute and easy-going manner, hesitant to respond to an approach from a male student, Kugi Youji. A visual showing Canaan blushing in embarrassment has also been released just before the broadcast.
Additional cast members have also been announced, including Kuroda Takaya as Canaan's father, Beelzebub, Ogura Yui as Canaan's homeroom teacher, Ayana Taketatsu, Taketatsu Ayana as Kugi's homeroom teacher, Rurikawa Yui, and Kobayashi Yu as the school nurse, Reien Ryoko.
Kuroda commented, "I'm Kuroda Takaya, and I play Beelzebub! The setting, story, and character illustrations of this work are all fascinating, and I enjoyed going to the set every week and just listening to everyone's lines. I'm looking forward to seeing how much more interesting it will be once the illustrations and sound effects are added! I hope everyone will check it out."
Ogura said, "I'm Ogura Yui, and I'll be playing Yurino Yuriko. This is a bittersweet youthful romantic comedy about Canaan and Kuiki, and it's so heart-warming and makes you chuckle, you just can't take your eyes off it...! Yuriko is usually a gentle and kind teacher, but when it comes to romance, she has a different side to her, where her perspective narrows. Please look forward to the broadcast♪."
Taketatsu said, "I'm Ayana Taketatsu, who plays Professor Rurikawa. I played a cute professor who perfectly fits the saying that a name says it all. I wasn't involved much in the main story, but when I took part in the dubbing, I was taken aback by the energy of the heroines, including the cute and flirtatious Kanan! Kanachoro is amazing!!! I hope you'll look forward to it."
Kobayashi commented, "I will be playing Reien Ryoko, a cool and nonchalant woman who is very charming. Her presence as a health teacher is also cool and impressive. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in June 2022. It depicts the first love of Canaan, a gourmet demon who descends upon a high school in the human world to feast on the souls of young, sweet humans. Canaan, who is "easygoing and cute" with no romantic experience, ends up signing a romantic contract with Kuiki Youji, a naturally optimistic high school boy.
The anime will be produced by Studio KAI. It will star Aoi Koga as Takayoshi Canaan and Seiichiro Yamashita as Kugi Yoji. It will air on TOKYO MX and other channels from April 4th.
