Actors Nanase Nishino and Kanata Hongo appeared at the completion announcement event for the omnibus film "GEMNIBUS vol.2" held in Tokyo on March 4th.
Nishino and Hongo starred in "Influencer Ghost," directed, written, and edited by Masaki Nishiyama. Nishino played the role of Mari, an ordinary person who is treated as a criminal on social media, drawing public anger.
Nishino said about her role, "It's a story about someone who gets into trouble even though they haven't done anything wrong. I wonder why it has come to this, it's not like that! But I have to do something, and I waver and take action."
Hongo said, "I think it's a theme that viewers can relate to because social media is so familiar to us. You start to feel sorry for Nishino Nanase, who is at the center of the controversy. Kanata Hongo often plays the role of the person who is cornered, and I thought his acting as the person being cornered was wonderful."
Also appearing at the completion announcement meeting were Mori Nana, Kurokawa Soya, Kuroshima Yuina, Mizuki Yoshida, Kashii Yu, Nishigaki Takumi, and Ten Yamasaki from Sakurazaka46.
Toho's talent support project "GEMSTONE Creative Label" has launched an omnibus project called "GEMNIBUS," which weaves together short films by several up-and-coming directors into a single film. This second installment will be released for a limited time only at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) for one week from March 6th to March 12th.
