The series began serialization in 2006, and the TV anime "GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There" aired in 2015 and 2016. This will be the first TV anime broadcast in about 11 years.
The first trailer, set in the magnificent ocean of another world, has also been released. It depicts scenes of the submarine Kitasio cutting through the deep, expansive sea. A comic adaptation of "SEASON 2" has begun serialization on Alphapolis' official website.
The "Gate" series is a popular light novel series that has sold over 7.7 million copies. "GATE 2" is set on the vast oceans of another world, where the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is active. It is directed by Toru Takahashi and produced by Studio M2.
