The eighth episode of the drama series "Okome no Onna - National Tax Agency Document Investigation Division, Miscellaneous Affairs Room" (TV Asahi, Thursdays at 9pm), starring actress Nanako Matsushima, was broadcast on February 26th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 8.6% for households and 4.7% for individuals.
The drama is set in the newly established "Complex National Tax Case Processing Office (commonly known as Zakkoku)" of the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau's Document Investigation Division (commonly known as Kome, because of the character for rice, which means "fee"), which boasts high information gathering capabilities and investigative skills in tax investigations. The drama follows the talented investigator Yoneda Seiko (played by Matsushima) as she, along with a group of unique individuals, takes down unscrupulous tax evaders.
The subtitle of episode 8 is "The Final Chapter! The Final Battle for 1.1 Billion Yen in Buried Treasure."
Zakkoku, which continues its investigation into the Takaba family, is in danger of being disbanded. Masako and her team vow to get to the bottom of the Takaba family's secret funds in the remaining month, but Sasano (Hayato Sano) suddenly returns to the Ministry of Finance. Meanwhile, former minister Soichiro (Yuda Chiba) begins talking about hidden assets, or buried treasure, that have been passed down through the Takaba family for generations.
Meanwhile, Haijima (Katsumura Masanobu) wins the election under the name "Takaha Naoya" and finally becomes a politician. Masako's father, Taji (Akira Terao), is always by Haijima's side... and so the story unfolds.
