Actor Koichi Sato and his son Kanichiro will grace the cover of the regular April issue of men's fashion magazine GQ JAPAN (Condé Nast Japan), which goes on sale on February 28th. Sato in a white shirt and Kanichiro in a black shirt make for a cool and stylish pairing.
Sato and Kanichiro apparently intended to turn down the offer, but Kanichiro said, "It's rare for us to have the opportunity to appear on the cover together, and I thought it might be the first and last time," and Sato also said, "If it's not for the purpose of promoting something, but rather a shoot where we can both be ourselves, then I thought it would be nice to leave something behind."
When asked about the topics that connect father and son, Sato said, "When we meet occasionally, all we talk about is movies," and "That's the only common language we have," while Kanichiro revealed, "No, I'm happy that we have even just one topic in common."
The cover story of the magazine features an interview about "inherited style." When asked what makes a "person with style," Sato answered, "Someone who isn't afraid to change," while Kanichiro said, "Someone who has something about them that you can make fun of."
The same issue also comes with a special cover edition, featuring the popular seven-member Korean group BTS on the cover.
