It was revealed on February 19th that actress Kazue Fukiishi will be making a guest appearance in episode 6 (broadcast March 1st) of TBS's Sunday Theatre "Reboot" (Sunday 9pm), starring Ryohei Suzuki. This will be Fukiishi's first appearance on Sunday Theatre in two years, since "Anti-Hero" (2024). She will play the wife of Wataru Goro (played by Yukiya Kitamura), who controls an underground organization.
Fukiishi made her acting debut at the age of 14 as the heroine of a movie, and has since appeared in numerous productions. In "Anti-Hero," her first drama appearance in nine years, she played the role of a deceased prosecutor who influenced the protagonist, leaving a strong impression.
This will be her first drama appearance in two years, and she will be playing Goroku's wife, Hinako. Hinako is a full-time housewife who cares about her family and is the mother of her eldest daughter, Hinata, who is in fifth grade, and her eldest son, Kouki, who is in third grade. But does she really know that her husband, Goroku, is committing atrocities behind the scenes, despite his reputation as a businessman? Also, a certain incident leads Hinako to come face to face with Gido (played by Suzuki), but how will she become involved in the case?
The drama is an original work that popular screenwriter Tsutomu Kuroiwa spent three years planning. It is a suspense story about a kind-hearted pastry chef, Hayase Riku, who is framed for the murder of his wife, but must abandon his beloved family and past to pose as corrupt Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department detective Gido Ayumu in order to prove his innocence and find the real culprit.

As I continued reading the script, many of my questions turned into questions! I was so surprised that I lost track of time as I was immersed in the world of the reboot.
At the same time, I still vividly remember facing the script, savoring the happiness of being able to take part in this production.
She played the role of Goroku Hinako, a loving husband who cares for his family, without knowing what his husband Goroku Wataru is up to behind the scenes.
The scenes I was in were warm and very peaceful.
However, even though you don't know your husband's true nature, there may be some scenes that make you think, "Huh?"

This was my first time working with Suzuki Ryohei.
My scene was in episode 6, so the atmosphere on set was already set, and I could sense that Suzuki-san was approaching this "reboot" project with a high level of concentration.
I was excited to join such a passionate team from the very first day.
In particular, I want to see that scene, which was filmed just across the wall from me, in real time as soon as possible.

Fukiishi Kazue plays the wife of Goroku, the underworld boss.
When I interviewed Maruyama Gonzales, the underworld supervisor, I was very impressed by what he said: "Just because someone is in the underworld doesn't mean they lead an extraordinary private life."
These words prompted me to think about how I should portray Goroku's "family."
She may or may not know what her husband is doing.
Or are they accepting it knowingly?
Even in such a complicated situation, I hope that they will be a bright presence in the home.
Fukiishi-san was the person who fit that image. Her strong gaze and gentle demeanor made her the perfect fit for the role, so I offered her the role.
