It has been announced that the TV anime "Level 999 Villager," based on the light novel by Hoshizuki Koneko, which originated from the novel submission site "Let's Become a Novelist," will begin airing on TV Tokyo, BS Fuji, and other channels from July. Additional cast members have also been announced, including Egashira Hiroya as Takako, a long-time acquaintance of protagonist Kagami Koji, Shimazaki Nobunaga as the hero Rex, Iwami Manaka as Princess Kururu, Koga Aoi as the monk Tina, and Lynn as the magician Paruna. The second teaser visual and the first promotional video, featuring characters such as Kagami Koji and Alice, have been released.
Egashira commented, "I'm Egashira Hiroya, and I'll be playing the role of Takako. This is my first time playing a female role, so I had a lot of fun playing the role, even though I had to try a lot of different things! I sincerely hope that many people will enjoy it. Thank you very much!"
Shimazaki said, "I have been following the series personally and was able to see its conclusion over six years ago, so I never thought I would be given the opportunity to appear in it! When I heard about the audition, I was very excited. As the secrets of the world are revealed, the worldview expands, so please look forward to it! It's a little early, but I hope that the anime will be adapted to the end of the original story."
Iwami sent a message saying, "Kururu is a reliable character with a strong sense of justice, but he also shows a funny side to her midway through the story! The dubbing is also progressing in a very friendly atmosphere. Personally, I like Rex because he's so funny! I can't wait for everyone to see it...! Please look forward to the broadcast."
Koga said, "When I started reading the story, I couldn't help but say out loud, 'I see!' It was a very fresh story for me, and I became so engrossed in the story that I continued reading. Tina is timid and passive at first, but as the journey progresses, she gradually becomes more reliable and makes use of her natural qualities. I think there are many comical expressions among the characters, so I hope you will enjoy those as well. I look forward to your continued support!"
Lynn commented, "I'm Lynn, and I'll be playing the role of Paruna. She's a magician! She's an absolute must-have in any party! Villagers... are they really strong if they're level 999? You'll have to find out for yourself. By the way, this story changes so much as you read further into the story that it's very surprising, and I really want to make it into an anime that will take you all the way through! So I hope everyone enjoys it."
The series began serialization on "Let's Become a Novelist" in 2015 and has since become a hit manga, with a total circulation of over 3.8 million copies. Set in a world of swords and magic where people are born with levels and roles, Koji Kagami, a villager who has reached the pinnacle of level 999 and is rebelling against the life he has been given, meets Alice, the daughter of the Demon King, the pinnacle of the demon race, and together with his friends, they aim for coexistence between demons and humans.
The anime will be directed by Yoshinobu Kasai and produced by Brain's Base. Keiji Inomata will play the protagonist Koji Kagami, and Nao Toyama will play Alice.
