The sixth episode of the drama series "Okome no Onna - National Tax Agency Document Investigation Division, Miscellaneous Affairs Room" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), starring actress Nanako Matsushima, was broadcast on February 12th, and the average viewership ratings (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) were 7.1% for households and 4.0% for individuals, exceeding the 9.2% for households and 5.0% for individuals for the fifth episode from the previous week.
The drama is set in the newly established "Complex National Tax Case Processing Office (commonly known as Zakkoku)" of the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau's Document Investigation Division (commonly known as Kome, because of the character for rice, which means "fee"), which boasts high information gathering capabilities and investigative skills in tax investigations. The drama follows the talented investigator Yoneda Seiko (played by Matsushima) as she, along with a group of unique individuals, takes down unscrupulous tax evaders.
The subtitle of episode 6 is "VS Politicians' Secret Money Alchemists!" and features guest appearances by Kazuyuki Asano, Kaname Ouki, and Shin Shimizu.
National tax investigator Masako Yoneda learns that former National Tax Agency employee Hakoyama (played by Asano) is misusing his knowledge to create slush funds for politicians. Investigating Hakoyama's dark connections with politicians, Masako and her team infiltrate a political fundraising party hosted by the Takaba Group, which includes the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Takaba Soichiro (played by Chiba Yudai). This leads to a direct confrontation between Masako and Hakoyama, her sworn enemy from her time at the National Tax Agency. And so, the true purpose behind Masako's founding of Zakkoku is soon revealed...
