The fifth episode of the drama series "Okome no Onna - National Tax Agency Document Investigation Division, Miscellaneous Affairs Room" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), starring actress Nanako Matsushima, was broadcast on February 5th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 9.2% for households and 5.0% for individuals, exceeding the 8.5% for households and 4.7% for individuals for the fourth episode last week.
The drama is set in the newly established "Complex National Tax Case Processing Office (commonly known as Zakkoku)" of the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau's Document Investigation Division (commonly known as Kome, because of the character for rice, which means "fee"), which boasts high information gathering capabilities and investigative skills in tax investigations. The drama follows the talented investigator Yoneda Seiko (played by Matsushima) as she, along with a group of unique individuals, takes down unscrupulous tax evaders.
The subtitle of episode 5 is "A current minister's mistress commits corrupt tax evasion!?" and guest appearances by Asano Kazuyuki, Kawazu Asuka, and Goto Takenori.
Takaba Soichiro's (Chiba Yudai) father, former political heavyweight Takaba Kinnosuke (Ono Takehiko), passes away. Yoneda Masako (Matsushima), a tax investigator, attends the farewell ceremony and accidentally bumps into her father, Taji (Terao Akira), who turns up at the event for some reason. Meanwhile, when an investigation is launched into video streamer Pongi Kanacheru (Kawazu), rumors emerge that he is Soichiro's mistress and that he has a connection with Hakoyama Tetsuro (Asano), a tax bureau employee. It turns out that Hakoyama was Masako's arch enemy...
