It has been announced that the idol group Momoiro Clover Z (Momoclo) will be performing the opening theme song "Kaishin no Ichigeki" for the TV anime "Honoo no Toukyuuji Dodge Danpei," a legitimate sequel to Tetsuhiro Koshita's popular dodgeball manga from the 1990s. The main PV, which features the song and the ending theme "Welcome to Azatosa World" by the voice actress idol unit i☆Ris, has also been released on YouTube.

"Honoo no Toukyuu Onna Dodge Danko" is a manga series starring Ichigeki Danko, the daughter of Ichigeki Danpei, the protagonist of "Honoo no Toukyuuji Dodge Danpei." It began serialization in 2022 on "Weekly CoroCoro Comic," the manga website of "CoroCoro Comic" (Shogakukan). The story depicts Danko's struggles to create the strongest dodgeball team in the Reiwa era. The first episode's PV has surpassed 700,000 views, and it has gained popularity, frequently trending on X on the days new episodes are released. The anime will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels from July 6th.
"Dodge Danpei" is a dodgeball manga that depicts the growth of elementary school student Danpei Ichigeki as he competes against rivals in Super Dodgeball. It was serialized in "CoroCoro Comic" from 1989 to 1995, and an anime adaptation aired from 1991 to 1992.
