The first episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , aired on March 30, and viewers' attention was drawn to the protagonist Rin Ichinose's (Mikami) father, Shin'emon ( Kazuki Kitamura).
"Kaze,Kaoru" is based on the story of two trained nurses, Chika Ozeki and Masa Suzuki, who graduated from the same nursing school. The drama depicts how these two women struggle with how to interact with patients and doctors, grow through their conflicts, and eventually become the "ultimate buddy" duo. Mikami plays the main character, Rin Ichinose, and Uesaka plays the other main character, Naomi Oya.
In 1882, Rin lived a modest but happy life with her mother Mitsu (played by Mizuno Miki), her younger sister Yasu (played by Hayasaka Miharu), and her father Shin'emon in a village in the Nasu region of Tochigi Prefecture.
Shin'emon was a former chief retainer of a small domain in the Nasu region. Before the Meiji Restoration, he resigned from his position as chief retainer and became a farmer, and has consistently refused offers to become a government official. He has a gentle personality and also has an intellectual side, such as composing haiku while working in the fields or reading on the veranda at night.
Kitamura previously appeared in the Asadora"Scarlet" (second half of 2019) as Kawahara Tsuneyoshi, the heroine's father. He brilliantly embodied the "useless father" character: a domineering, boastful, heavy drinker, yet unable to abandon those in need, he ends up taking on troublesome tasks.
Shin'emon, who is gentle and gives a completely different impression from Tsuneyoshi, has garnered comments on social media such as, "He seems like a really good father, which is great," "Confirming that Kazuki Kitamura is a good father...please don't disappoint me?", "Is this Kazuki Kitamura Kazuki Kitamura of light!?
