Mamoru Nagano's popular manga "Five Star Stories" (KADOKAWA) celebrated its 40th anniversary in the April issue of the magazine "Monthly Newtype" (published on March 10th). The main story is currently in the midst of the highly anticipated episode "44 Minutes of Miracle," which has been generating such a huge response that the March issue in which the episode began has sold out.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary, the issue features a special feature with Sword Saint Kaien and Aukso on the cover. The supplement is a double-sided B2 poster featuring illustrations of Sword Saint Kaien and Aukso, as well as illustrations of the three fateful sisters Atropos, Lachesis, and Clotho. Interviews with Gen Urobuchi, Jean-Ken Johnny of "MAN WITH A MISSION," Kengo Hanazawa, Tsukasa Kotobuki, Tamiki Wakaki, and Doug Kurusu are also included.
"Five Star Stories" depicts the epic drama of Automatic Flowers, artificial lifeforms that help pilot Gottimaed, and knights with superhuman abilities. The series has been serialized since the April 1986 issue of the magazine, and the total number of related books published has exceeded 10 million. The latest 19th volume of the comic will be released on Getsuku.
