A completion report meeting for "Yokohama Neighbors Season 2," a WOWOW x Tokai TV co-production drama series starring Ryusei Onishi Onishi of the popular group " Naniwa Danshi " and Yoshitaka Hara Hara of "timelesz," was held in Tokyo on March 7th, with Onishi and Hara appearing. In reference to the series' keyword "kindness and good neighborliness," Onishi was asked what words he holds dear, to which he replied, "fully carefree," and revealed that before taking the stage he and Hara had been holding hands like lovers backstage, enjoying a friendly atmosphere.
Regarding "being fully relaxed," Onishi said, "When I'm working, I feel like I have to be switched on and be brisk, but as I get older, I've come to realize that if I switch it on too much, I become stiff and my good qualities disappear," and explained, "I think I should just stay relaxed in my head."
Onishi continued, "Even when I'm on a big stage, if I say I'm nervous, I end up feeling that way, so I try to feel like I'm looking forward to it and stay relaxed until just before the show." Hara revealed, "Just now, before we came on stage, Onishi held hands like a couple," to which her co-stars exclaimed, "He did!" and "I thought he was doing a great job."
Hara shook her head, saying, "I didn't really understand. It was so sudden," but Onishi explained, "I did it with the intention of spreading that feeling to those around me." Hara nodded with a smile, saying, "It makes you feel more at ease." On stage, Onishi and Hara held hands like lovers, swinging their arms back and forth, and the venue was filled with warm laughter.
On this day, Yuna Taira, Misako Renbutsu, and Masato Hagiwara were also in attendance.
The drama is a human entertainment story about a smart but lazy NEET young man, Koyanagi Ryuichi (aka Ron, Onishi-san), who grew up in Chinatown, and tackles various cases with the help of his older brother, Detective Iwashimizu Kinta (aka Kin-chan, Hara-san), from the First Investigative Division, and his fellow Neighbors. The original work is the much talked about novel series "Yokohama Neighbors" (Haruki Bunko) by Iwai Keiya, which was also nominated as a finalist for the 11th Yoshikawa Eiji Bunko Award. Season 1 was broadcast on Tokai TV and Fuji TV.
Season 2 will add original elements not found in the original work, making the story even more suspenseful. It will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand every Saturday at 10pm starting March 7th. There will be a total of 8 episodes.
