It was revealed on February 17th that actor Marsh Aya will be making a guest appearance in the fifth episode (aired February 22nd) of the TBS Sunday Theatre "Reboot" (Sunday 9pm), starring Suzuki Ryohei. This will be Marsh's first appearance on a Sunday Theatre. He will play Aoi, an employee of the non-profit organization "Shelter".
Marsh said about the drama, "From the very first episode, there were many developments that drew me in, and as the story progressed, the human relationships became more and more complicated, with betrayals occurring along the way, so I felt it was a work that was very worth thinking about. The setting of rebooting and living a different character's life was also fresh, and as I read the script, I tried to organize my thoughts as I went along, and I was always excited to see how the story would unfold next."
He also shared his feelings, saying, "Suspense is a genre I've always loved, and it was a great honor to be able to appear in Sunday Theater for the first time. I'm really happy to have been able to take part in this production."
Regarding Aoi, he said, "She is an employee of the NPO Seltaar, and supports the children who take refuge at Seltaar. She is like a kind older sister who actively looks after younger children. She is not directly involved in crime, but I get the impression that she is somehow aware that the other founding members are doing something nefarious...but even so, she cares for her fellow Seltaar members like family, and I think she is a kind and caring person."
The drama is an original work that popular screenwriter Tsutomu Kuroiwa spent three years planning. It is a suspense story about a kind-hearted pastry chef, Hayase Riku, who is framed for the murder of his wife, but must abandon his beloved family and past to pose as corrupt Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department detective Gido Ayumu in order to prove his innocence and find the real culprit.
