The first installment of Toei's new special effects series "PROJECT RED," "Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity" (TV Asahi, Sundays at 9:30 a.m.), will begin airing on February 15th.
The subtitle of the first episode is "Red Gavan." Galactic Federation Police investigator Doki Reiji (played by Nagata Kohei) is assigned to the Document Division, a dead-end department. He spends his days being mocked by the detectives of the First Investigation Division. However, his true identity is Gavan Infinity, the only person in the universe who can call himself "Space Sheriff Gavan," and he has thrown himself into investigating emotional crimes that transcend dimensions.
One day, Reiji heads to "Multiverse Lambda 8018," a world where negative emotional waves are expanding and threatening to destroy the entire universe. In the midst of chaos on Lambda 8018, he meets Aikokuin Setsuna (played by Akabane Ryuga), the commander of the Public Order Maintenance Headquarters Special Forces.
"Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity" is a completely new "Gavan" that inherits the visuals and space-set sci-fi elements of "Space Sheriff Gavan," which aired from 1982 to 1983, while being reconstructed using the latest visual expression and directing methods. It unfolds in a worldview based on the "multiverse theory," which holds that there is not just one universe. The script will be written by Atsuhiro Tomioka, who served as the main writer for the Super Sentai series "Bakujo Sentai Bunbunger" (2024-2025).
