The fourth episode of the drama series "Shumaku no Rondo" (Kantele/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10pm), starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, aired on November 3rd. The scene in which Toshihito, the husband of Makoto Mikuriya (Yuri Nakamura), played by Jun Kaname, crushes an orange became a hot topic on social media.

Toshihito, the managing director of Mikuriya Holdings, rushes to the hospital after hearing that his mother-in-law, Koharu (Jun Fubuki), has collapsed. Not knowing that Koharu has terminal pancreatic cancer, Toshihito is left feeling humiliated. When he learns that Itsuki (Kusanagi), who is in his hospital room, is the person sorting out Koharu's belongings, he gives him a somewhat cold look, exchanging only the formalities of greeting before leaving the room.
Koharu has three months left to live, which coincides with the time when Toshito becomes president. Toshito and the Mikuriya family ask the hospital director to keep Koharu hospitalized until the end. Meanwhile, bored in her hospital room, Koharu spends her time by writing "Torikai-san" and drawing a portrait on an orange.
Meanwhile, Toshito finds out that Koharu has sneaked out of the hospital room without the director's permission. He finds an orange with Koharu's scribbles in it. Toshito frowns angrily and crushes the orange in his hand.
In the drama "War of the Traps" (Kantele/Fuji TV), which aired in 2023, there was a scene in which Kusanagi's character crushes an apple. Some viewers were reminded of this drama, with comments on social media such as "The orange crush reminds me of the apple crush in War of the Traps," "Rihito's orange squeeze reminds me of the apple in War of the Traps," "Scary! He crushes the orange and his true face is scary," and "I love the scene where Rihito crushes the orange, it's full of ominous feeling."
This human drama follows Torikai Itsuki, an estate organizer who lost his wife five years ago and has a young son, as he and his colleagues at the estate organizer company "Heaven's Messenger" support families with various circumstances.
