Talent Hirohide Yakumaru will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which airs on May 25th at 1 PM.
He turned 60 in February. In front of Ms. Kuroyanagi, who has known him since he was a teenager, he spoke about his feelings on turning 60 and his enthusiasm for "the second start of life." On his actual birthday, his family surprised him with a celebration. His five children, scattered around the world including Hawaii and Europe, secretly returned to Japan for their father. He also revealed the story of the grand party attended by a total of 50 people, and the first family trip they took together afterward.
He talks about his daily life as an "overly doting grandpa" who goes to great lengths to fulfill his 5-year-old grandchild's requests, all because he doesn't want her to dislike him. He also reveals heartwarming anecdotes, such as digging out toys his own children used to play with his grandchild. The interview delves into his down-to-earth, family-loving self, including his healthy habits to maintain the stamina to chase after his grandchild.
