The release date for the latest animated film in the popular "Tom and Jerry" series, which follows the world's most famous cat and mouse as they chase each other, "Tom and Jerry: The Magic Compass" (distributed by Klockworx), has been set for May 29th, and the teaser visual and super Teaser trailer have just been released.
"Tom and Jerry" is a slapstick comedy short animated series in which the cat Tom and the mouse Jerry get into all sorts of chases in each episode. The year 2025 marks the 85th anniversary of the series' creation.
The newly released "super trailer" reveals that Tom is working part-time as a security guard at a museum in New York. He and Jerry, who has invaded the museum and posted a "No Rats Allowed" sign, engage in the usual fierce chase. After a scuffle, Tom catches Jerry, and the "magic compass" on display activates! Tom and Jerry are enveloped in a light and transported to an unknown world. Is it the past or the future? Will they be able to return to their world? The "world's most famous chase" sparks the series' greatest "time-slip adventure."
The released visual features Tom and Jerry continuing their chase despite being caught in a vortex of time and space, along with the tagline, "The more they fight, the more they can save the world!?" The design is adorable, evoking the feeling of a "friendly quarrel" and the start of a grand adventure.
To commemorate the release, advance Mubichike tickets (cards) will go on sale on March 20th. A must-have bonus for fans is the "Chase! Sticker Set." This limited edition item includes three stickers: Tom, Jerry, and the "Star Compass," a key item in the story. Adults 1,600 yen, children 900 yen.
